What is a Wichicat?
The "Wichicat" is a logo concept born from the Wichita City Flag. The name 'Wichicat' is a simple blend of 'Wichita' and 'Wildcat'. There is a very familiar resemblance of the bar and circle pattern around the powercat to that of the state of New Mexico flag, and the only difference lies in the number of bars. The Wichita City Flag, and thus the Wichicat, have 3 bars in the pattern, whereas the New Mexico Flag has 4. Undoubtedly, both patterns pay homage to the Native American ancestery in their respective regions.
You can find this logo at the bottom left-hand corner of every webpage in this website. This logo incorporates a profile of The Keeper of the Plains statue, arguably the single most identifiable symbol of the city of Wichita.
