Henry Page COGBURN was captured near Flat Rock about Sept 16 and was held as a prisoner of war at Camp Ford, TX. John Wesley COGBURN was his brother. They were recruits from Montgomery County Arkansas. Information provided by the family.
John Wesley COGBURN was a prisoner of war at Camp Ford, TX. He died in 1868 as a result of disease contracted at Camp Ford. He is listed in CMSR, and his minor children filed for pension. Samuel J. CRAWFORD, previously of the Second Kansas Infantry, was Captain of Company A, Second Kansas Volunteer Cavalry. Connelley's has biographical information on him. He was also Col. of the the 83rd U.S. Colored Infantry. His name is on plaque C-89 on the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington D.C. He later became the third Governor of the state of Kansas, but resigned to join the 19th Kansas Volunteer Cavalry Regiment. He is the namesake of Crawford County.
Ben CRIPPS was listed in the Eskridge Home Weekly list of Wabaunsee County Civil War Veterans. He lived in Wilmington, Wabaunsee County after the war.

John Smith EWBANKS was born 28 Nov 1835 to Benjamin Ewbank and Ann Smith. Ann Smith was the daughter of John Smith and Jane Wayne who came to the US from Thirsk, Yorkshire England in 1818. He enlisted and mustered into Co. E on Dec. 5, 1861. He was mustered out Jan. 26, 1865, at Leavenworth. John John married Mary Antoinette Reed 18 Aug 1868 They had 6 daughters and 4 sons. He died on 18 April 1902 in Woods County, Oklahoma. Information provided by a descendant.

Lewis Watson GRAHAM enlisted into Co I on June 10, 1862. He held the rank of private, corporal and sergeant. He was wounded in the left knee and treated in the post hospital at Fort Gibson. Horace L. MOORE, of Lawrence, Kansas, enlisted and was mustered in as a private into company "D" of the Second Kansas Volunteer Cavalry on Nov. 1, 1861. He was promoted to Second Lieutenant of company "D" on Dec. 11, 1861. He was promoted to First Lieutenant of company "D" on May 1, 1862. William O. O'NEILL attended the Greenwood County, KS Civil War Veterans Reunion in 1887.
Vincent B. OSBORNE, of Ft. Ellsworth, is the namesake of Osborne County. He enlisted and was mustered into Co A on Feb. 19, 1862. He was discharged for disability on May 8, 1865 at Little Rock, Arkansas. He received wounds in his right leg Jan. 17, 1865, in duty with the steamer Annie Jacobs. His leg was amputated above the right knee. Special mention of his heroic efforts are found in the Official History of Kansas Regiments.
William OSMER is found in the 1860 US Census in Diamond Creek TWP, Chase County, Kansas.
J. R. PARKER was a prisoner of war at Camp Ford, TX.
Edward M PATE, brother of William Harrison Pate, served in Co "L," attained the rank of Sgt. He had previously served in 4th Ark Inf (CSA). He apparently switched sides after Prairie Grove. Information supplied by family.

He was United States Senator from his home district from 1865 to 1870. He was listed in the Eskridge Home Weekly list of Wabaunsee County Civil War Veterans.
