He was a joiner, a master well sinker, and later became a coal miner. He was 29 years old when he married Ellen Bewick on 3 August 1868, in St. Hilda's Parish Church, |
Hartlepool. At the time of their marriage, Ellen and Leonard both resided on Railway Terrace, Hartlepool. They resided on Gowland Terrace, in the Village of Wheatley Hill on 6 April 1891. They resided at Third Row, Horden Colliery, in December 1903. |
