Grandmother Kate was born Catherine Purcell in Durrow, CO. Queens (now Laois), Ireland in December 1864, one of about 6 children of William Purcell and Bridget Laffan.
All but one of the children emigrated to New York City, either together or separately, I have no information about this.
I don't know exactly where Grandfather William Peter Corcoran was from; my mother said either Tipperary or "Balinslee".
Kate met William at some point after they emigrated to New York City.
Later they were married on February 12, 1888 at the Church of St. Agnes in NYC.
While on a trip back to Ireland their first child, Johanna, was born.
