The network element objects role as
defined by the ITU-T M.3010 recommendations is to provide ¡§state changes¡¨
from the network element when they occur. A state change may be meaningful of
itself, or only when specific other state changes occur. A state change could
occur in a predefined time, specific sequence or when a specific state change
does not occur. State changes are normally manifested as events or
notifications that are emitted spontaneously by the equipment or system where
the state change occurred. Events that are transient, redundant, implied, or
fit into a known pattern can be correlated. Events will be processed
immediately upon their arrival at the management system. An alarm is a
special kind of event indicating a problem condition. |
