Welcome to Chris Cogan's Second Drafts

I have "Asimov's" disease, except not quite as seriously as Asimov himself did, and without all the annoying publishing success that Asimov had. This could be related to the fact that I've never sent a manuscript to a publisher (except for one article to a computer magazine), but I like to pretend that it was due to my wisely refraining from exposing myself to the fame, money, and interesting people I might have met had I published.

I've decided, however, that it may be time -- if not already too late -- to go ahead and prepare some of my work for publication.

This site is here for three purposes:

1.      To "prepublish" material that is in a fairly coherent and readable state but not perhaps yet ready for mainstream publishing in a book.

2.      To present the ideas I've developed, or ideas that others have developed but which I have written up in my own way.

3.      To establish contact with others who are interested in some of the same issues as I am, people who may, a) find my work valuable, and b) be able to help me in some ways (such as by suggesting corrections, additions, deletions, publishers, other people to contact, material for me to read that's related to my work, and potential sponsors or co-researchers in some of the research projects I would like to see set up, etc.
