Clan Direwolf is a formidable, yet small, close-knit band of anti players residing on Darktide.

We engage in guerilla like activities designed to upset our foes and those unfortunate enough to be on our KOS list.

Not much to update. I’ll admit to spending more time finding out what Lineage II is about. Played the closed beta and I’m now involved in the North American open beta. Retail?, a decision to be made. One thing for sure, I cannot keep paying for AC and then L2. Mrs. Minn will have my scalp. I am continually surprised at how many old Darktiders are appearing in L2.

The patch is in! Go get your nifty Turbine gifts and 3 levels of free XP at the lifeston…err Town Crier nearest you! Still trying after all these years.

Turbine has changed the loot drops, I haven’t quite figured it out but it looks like at times the drop anywhere can be as profitable as in the VOD.

CoTH, Rim, and DLF have merged. Looks like another power to fight the Blood non juggernaut and HoS/BRN alliance.

If you are not using Mini-PK you need to, it’s a great plug-in and can keep you from getting killed while assessing someone.

Major Rollback coming! Ibn is trying to be upfront with us,...From the Turbine AC site:

In the February event, Darktide players will be able to use Town Criers for a one-time reward: two pieces of high-quality treasure-generated loot items as well as enough experience to gain three levels. Characters who are level 126 will receive three times the amount of experience required to go from level 125 to 126.

Monday January 19th, 8:00AM PST
On Monday, January 19th at 8:00 AM PST, we will begin moving the US Asheron's Call 1 servers to their new datacenter home. The move is expected to be completed by January 21st. During the move, the AC1 worlds (Darktide, Morningthaw, Harvestgain, Wintersebb) will be unavailable for play.

Turbine is changing the allegiance system. Read it here. It looks more like old times. Subscriptions are going up to $12.95/month.

Bookmark the Turbine site, looks like there might be a lot of info forthcoming.

Schon Tsu (now HOS) posted this link on the CoA board. It seems Ken Karl may try to stop combat macros. Too little too late? A year later and they still haven’t really put a hole in macros…

The Great War was about to break out (25 Oct). After much negotiation, BRN joined HOS and became known to anti guilds as…true PK. Then war was declared and it has never ceased. I never really understood why HOS wanted to get involved. Then it got ugly.

New Town in Dereth!

Candeth Keep (87.5S,67.1W), a South Dires town for the adventurous! Will it turn into another town with a wild west feel?

The Darktide Regulators disband? Say it isn’t so Will! This post seems to say another group of good guys are gone as a guild in AC1, sorry Al. L

Doctor Whoo has reared his ugly head and is preparing to try to wreak havoc again. I’ve seen Opex back IG also. Welcome back guys!

In case you haven’t noticed we now have a link to the online diplomacy list (Mini-PK) hosted by RIM, (Justice with Vengeance). You need to download Decal to use it. It has some very nice features and lists folks as Friends, Wary or Enemies. Simple to use once setup, and it updates as you logon. Rim wrote the original version used by HOS/BRN. With few exceptions, it is the same as used by the Anti community. If you note guilds that are missing, E-mail me or post it in the forums. Links are here in the public forum.

A sign of the times? No joy at the mansion tonight. Having lost a number of guild mates and with fewer steadfast members, Clan Direwolf no longer has its home. Did we need a mansion? Many folks have discussed this at length. Mansions are good for low level players seeking refuge and company, but do a few accomplished players need the burdens associated with having one? We all had muling spots prior to mansions and it was a thrill logging on to see if it was camped. We’d spend hours finding that best spot.

Singly, in pairs and small bands, Sanman’s ragtag clansmen are finding their way back to the comfort of the Dires. It’s rough for some, but they plod west to the setting sun. We’ve done it before and we will undoubtedly do it again…continue the fight. Unlike that old soldier, we will not fade away…Ahh! There beyond the rim!…home again.

And that’s the way it is, this Wednesday, 19 August 2003.

Is AC2 in trouble? Only two worlds for US players?

Just announced on the AC2 Insider:

We would like to announce that during the August episode patch, we are planning to consolidate the remainder of the US AC2 worlds. This means we'll be transferring all your characters from several worlds onto two others. We wanted to give you a look at how we're planning to do that and what it means for you as a player.

At this time, we are still considering what we will be doing with the populations in the Europe Datacenters and hope to make a follow-up announcement in the coming week or two.

When you logon, check the number of players in DT. Looks like many times there’s less than 500. Let me know what you see.

I think old friend Maximus Desimus is with Dark Lord Trevor now. Don’t know if it’s a new player or our original Max.

Lots of new guilds popping up now, I’ll see if I can get a handle on them as well as their status for the Diplomacy page. Soooo confusing. It must be the ever changing politics of DT. Looks like many “anti“ players want to be able to fellow with their PK buds, and the politics overlap. True anti guilds (Clan Direwolf is one) are becoming rare. The Rhinos are no more, but I’d say its safe to say you can still depend on your ex-Rhinos friends..great folks they are!

Rebels United in Numbers (RUIN), tag Jarbo has adopted a new policy. The monarch (Jarboto) has proclaimed them to be freedom of choice. This puts them at odds with everyone on the server, PK’s and anti’s alike. Bottom line is they can fellow with anyone and do whatever they want. Sounds like Random PK to me. Jarboto has a long thread on the Clan of The Hand (CoTH) message board discussing his policy. You can read it by clicking here. Speaking of CoTH, Amber Rage is no longer a guild and has asked to be accepted into the Clan of The Hand. I’ll post more on that as it develops.

This time last year:

Blood membership reached 13,000. Level 6 scrolls were no longer convertible to level 7 spells.

Nethalia Teyaco and friends started the Knights of Honor. They have since departed for other venues and green pastures.

Seems as though guild activity has slowed, prompting a couple of members to seek other guilds. No Biggy, We’ve been here before, a guild doesn’t last 3 years if it can’t put up with slow times. Unfortunately, when several key members take a break at the same time, some folks think its over. Not so! I’m guilty as well, since I let the board go a month and a half without an update.

1 year ago, Danby’s outpost was the scene of huge battles. The TLS/BRN war wsa going hot & heavy. A side note,

TLS failed to break BRN’s access to their mansion before declaring war on them. Heh! Heh! You guessed it. Chaos in the mansion. HOS had dissolved their alliance with BRN. Timmie C and Co. got more than they asked for when messing with the Rhinos.

Todays News !!!!

The Antis Incarnate alliance is no more. When NWA and Tao merged, it effectively did away with the alliance. The new guild is the

Dereth Liberation Front tagged Owain Goch, so, NWA and Tao are gone as well.

The The House of Blackrock has moved HoS and I assume BRN to hostile…again.

The Marshals of Darktide (MoD) , are tagged Marshal Krip, Darkon is taking an extended break to tie up some RL things and knows not when he’ll be back. BTW, Marshal Law is in MOD as well as several respected, previous members of members of The Dark Knights ( Doomgaze ).

New guild, of Freemen of Dereth (FoD), tag Crying Freeman, is also gone. CF went back to Blood, I think, he seems to jump back and forth a lot.

Where do I start? Lots of guild updates, mergers,breaks and whatnot.

Lets start with, friendly guilds,

The Circle of Arms (CoA) split is complete, always amongst our best of friends, they are stilll tagged Xanthro.

The Marshals of Darktide (MoD) , the part of CoA that split, are tagged Darkon, a co monarchy administered by Darkon and Marshal Krip, also some of our very good friends and I hope soon to officially be in the Rhino Party.

The Darktide Wanderers, (DW) tag Sojada Al Worthiem, an old guild that that merged with CoA, has risen to become it self again. Some of the very best folks around.

The Swedish Legion (TSL),tagged Azzameen, new Rhino members from Sweden, play mostly European hours, if you see any of them be sure to give them a great Hiya!

New guild, name is Freemen of Dereth (FoD), tag Crying Freeman.

A name with a bad reputation, but has spent a good while in a guild of first class order, The Fremen Knights, Tag Dawkinson, and is bent on cleaning up his image. The Character was sold to a respected member of The Fremen Knights, and should be given the benefit of the doubt.

Now, server trash (Definition: anyone that fails to think like me). Drunk With Power, (DWP) has merged with ? (KoD), tag Panda.

Resurrection of Honor (RoH) is, (temporarily) Ctober, and will be Numage. You may have known them as Evil Puma. Evil Puma Deleted and Restored his character, losing his Mansion. The story is,that Puma has some RL problems. On that note I wish him well and hope things work out for him.

Whew! All that leaves me with little else to type. But have no fear, a word still left for your edification. From the whirlds greatest?....

First report of a new year. Clan Direwolf now has a new home and a number of new guild mates. Usually I post an individual welcome to each new member. This time however, with the many individuals that recently joined I ‘d like to extend a hearty welcome to all of you. As time goes on I hope to see all of you at one time or another. I try to update this page monthly as a minimum.

At last report the HoS/BRN alliance was at war with The Shadow Warriors, Tag: Schattenkind , one of the older very respected guilds on Darktide. Remember, we are at war with HoS/BRN, treat them no different than Blood or other scurrilous individuals that populate this land.

Congratulations go to Dr Whoo, our first level 100. Small potatoes to some, but considering the handicaps our folks have always been under, (no oober XP chain, no macros, no controlled dungeons, and the list goes on) it’s quite an accomplishment. Admittedly our shortcoming, but that is changing. We have several in the wings ready to crack that barrier.

Things to remember:

No duels or playfighting in or around the mansion. To do so you risk being released from the guild. If you want to try out a new weapon on a guild mate take it to the woods, if you are within radar range of the mansion you are too close.

If you use Cyclops for buffs, keep up with your bill. Many of us routinely drop loot in front of the mansion, for the lower levels, use it as DI’s, cash for comps, or bot bills. If there is a question that someone may be muling, ask. Cyclops keeps a record of users and how much they pay. A list is published in our forums under the Bot Beat. The list is stickied at the top of the page as “Who pays to play”. We don’t expect much, but it is a tool for you and a privilege. As such it can be revoked. If you buffed yourself or your patron buffed you, you’d see how great the bot can be.

I would suggest that our new members take the time to read the Policies page.

We do not have many requirements, but knowing what they are will help you understand how we think.

As a guild, possibly the only way to communicate ideas, opinions, hunting spots, quest info and the like is to read and

post on the message boards. The Free Dereth fight page has a lot of good tips for PVP combat.

Win or lose there is always something to be learned from the fight chat, and at times, some hilarious reading.

The Wolfpack page is protected. Contact your Patron, Ja Minn (me), and Monarch in that order, to get

access to the page. You will need to register. I don’t mean to suggest you become board trolls, leave that up to me.

But anything you may know, that may help any of us is appreciated. Besides knowing you use the site makes me feel good.

News from around Dereth.

War, still goes on. It’s a fact of life. The general feeling is that BRN, after allying with HoS felt that the Rhinos would be crushed and capitulate in short order. Not so, BRN and HoS members have found that we haven’t given up. The defense of Sawato may not be first and foremost, but we go on.

The Non Factors have merged with NWA. Short lived, but can be a great help to NWA.

Justice, is a new guild is comprised primarily of HoS folks that did not agree with the war against the Rhinos. The tag for them is Rim.

The Liberated, has a new tag, Killer Whale. The character known as The Liberated, has been bought by someone in BRN.

Crying Freeman is for sale on EBay.

Hustler, one time arch nemesis of the anti cause is no longer Blood! A huge plus in my book. But, do not be lulled asleep. He has said he will be RPK depending on his mood. He will also be paying visits to Sawato, hopefully Sags and BRNoses will get him in a bad mood. If so, be sure to give him a hand.

Those of you that have expressed interest in getting a guild mansion had best be checking the private boards for more info, we are close, but no cigar yet. We have the rank, and the goodies but lack a few p’s. Then we will have a home for your mules. No more cold nights, winds whistling through the trees, faint screams of pain as Ja kills another mossie.

Blood is/has canned all members under 50. Do not be fooled by these “Easy Riders” looking for a guild till they can go back to Blood. Beware the easy recruit.

The War, is being waged by the Rhinos on all fronts. The streets of Sawato rage nightly. Our enemies are strong, but the Rhino alliance continues to do battle. At the moment, regardless of their board propaganda, BRN & HOS have to think we have earned the respect we wanted. The line of thinking that the Rhinos were just for carebearing went down the tubes. We will fight! Anytime a guild can regularly put 10-15 level 100+ in your face and you fight back, you earn respect. Keep up the good work!

A sad note, The Darktide Regulators have withdrawn from the Rhinos. Amidst staunch criticism Silverwolf and William Ohms had to pull their guild out. Think not poorly of them, they have many issues to work out. They are still friends and if you see one in trouble help. This correspondent was one of their loudest critics. I came to the realization that other things are involved. That is why Sanman is the Monarch and I write this update.

Rhino party members, the Knights of Honor, led by Dreki, and our loquacious friend Nethalia Teyaco (Taco) were not released and are still Rhinos. Heh!Heh! Releasing them from our control would surely have caused a war anyway.

After repeated attempts with diplomatic measures failed, the Rhino Alliance has declared War on Black Rose Noble (BRN), Tag (Al Krieger) for refusing to comply with the no fight zone of Sawato in their current war with TLS. BRN had agreed to the no fire zone as had TLS. BRN has repeatedly frustrated Rhino guilds when trying to resolve issues in a peaceful manner, offering no respect or acknowledgement that they cared about our position. According to AL Neo, BRN leader and spokesman “The only guilds in Darktide we respect are HOS and CoA. We do not care what the other guilds think.”

Every attempt has been taken to peacefully resolve these issues. BRN forged an alliance with HOS and moved the guilds in the Rhino party to hostile. They then blatantly violated the no fire zone in Sawato and attacked Rhino members server wide. After additional diplomacy secured a cease fire, BRN/HOS members continued the attacks, thus voiding any cease fire agreements. A Proclamation of Rhino Alliance has been written and proposed to BRN. This war will not end until the issues are agreed to or negotiated. Click on the link below to read the terms of the proclamation

News! Our old friends, The Soldiers of Light are no more. The guild has disbanded, the old Monarch, Magnus Kaliptic has stated he will be solo PK. Keep a wary eye out for him. I doubt he will trust kill, but be aware.

Rhino party members, the Knights of Honor, led by Dreki, and our loquacious friend Nethalia Teyaco (Taco) have withdrawn from the membership of the rhinos. As ever, still friends, but no longer Rhinos.

Reminder! If you are ever in a confrontation with someone from a “friendly” guild, always get screenshots! We love them.

Did anyone have a lapse of memory recently? After the most recent patch, my Nerffus Buffus was hosed beyond belief. I just about forgot how to buff myself. I guess that’s why Sanman refused to answer my calls for help! LOL!

I hope those of you that are approaching 90 give me a tell when you make it. Some guilds would look at that as old hat, but in CDW its quite an accomplishment. We’ve posed more problems to ourselves than makes good sense. But, we still roam the land, not quite virginal and always looking for another kill.

If you desire access to the Rhino message board you must post a request in the new “Access request” forum. The scores of folks that had access had begun to be a concern. The DB was wiped clean so Admin can keep track of who has access. Al Katan and myself can give you access. But you have to post a request first.

Bluejay , is no longer in the guild. Dinki Dow and Asahel gave him as much help as they could, good guys that they are. He just didn’t think he was Direwolf material. Emii ,(WOL) seems to be losing a number of stalwarts. I hate to see it but we all know it happens. So if you see folks around that for one reason or another seem to be familiar, They Are!! The are tagged differently that’s all. Most are CoA. I addition they are some of the best folks around. They will help you anywhere, anytime anyhow J. Do the same for them.

A reminder! If, in your travels, you have the misfortune to be accosted by folks you believe to be friendly, GET SCREENSHOTS! That’s the only way that we can present a case for dismissal from a clan, an apology or possible return of DI’s or any kind of action. You can’t blame the guild, we’d do the same with the lack of evidence.

Not much to report from around the land. This is an interesting happenin’ from the DNN site. http://www.darktidenews.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=index It seems that Corpse Devourer wormed his way into the Blood Mansion and caused wholesale chaos! LMAO! Guess turnabout is fairplay right? Also from DNN is news of a new bug. Bottom line is is you have your cursor over your avatar and click the right and left buttons at the same time you will drop anything you were holding. So be careful of any scam that may turn up, whereby you get the worlds riches if you perform that combination.

Many of you may remember Ravenhawk, when he took over the House of Wisper after the death of Wisper. They were stoned with us a long time ago near the Healers Hut. The House of Wisper and Orb merged. Their tag is now Wisper. So if you see them they are friends and Rhino members.

Yanshi Devastated!…Gone!

It began with an earth-shattering explosion violently shaking the people of Yanshi from their beds. Pure mana exploded up from the earth below Yanshi, igniting the buildings of the town and sending the residents fleeing. Those that couldn't escape were killed in the explosions, but the Lifestones resurrected all--save one. The Jeweler Xao Wu never appeared. The survivors were stunned, for only a few had truly died a violent death since Asheron had perfected the Lifestones. The question was muttered among them: had Gaerlan found a means of breaking their connection to the Lifestones? Thus begins a new saga in the lives of those residing in Dereth.

After speaking with close friend Sum Phun, self proclaimed denizen of the South Sawato swamp, I am given to believe this patch is the pits for low level melee doods. After receiving a great deal of help from buffing friends, it still takes near 10 minutes to kill some of these level 48-55 elemental critters. He suffers little damage, but without having much magic at his disposal, his damage to them is the shits. L It seems to matter not that his elemental weapons are buffed to the hilt. It still takes longer than its worth to kill them. Give him Raveners any day. 3-5 critters per buff round is sick.

Born of Hatred has joined our band of intrepid PK’s (good ones tho). Welcome to Clan Direwolf ! Wonder who he hates? Could this be someone’s reroll that has a vendetta? Maybe someone that was abused at a lifestione by our favorite cheaters/hackers/POS’s? Hopefully he’ll join the ranks of efficient killers that Sanman has accumulated. Rumor has it that Doc Whoo has regained his form.

News from around the town!

The Darktide Wanderers, formerly tagged Niyoto, most recently tagged Drexler are no more. L They have packed their collective bags and moved on to CoA, tag Xanthro. Not lost to us, but part of a fine guild that we have all known for as long as we have been here.

Citing a lack of membership and active players, the merger was hammered out and signed. Not much else going on, the land seems eerily quiet as we all wait for the next patch. Ja Minn signing off……..

First the Good News!

Taldren, Dr Whoo and Dinki Dow have been seen roaming the land, (and the message boards). Always good to see anyone back from a break.

A ceasefire has been declared between TAO and TLS, effective immediately.

Now some bad news

Mu Dv Ay Ne a long time member of the guild left recently to join up with RL friend and previous member that was known to us as The Sickness, I could be wrong but The Sickness may have purchased Rice Rocket . At last count Mu took approximately 19 vassals. They are now in the guild known as The Horde, tagged Adnan. Adnan is a long time fence hopper that wants to change his political alignment. One of the leaders is Gwinevere. She (I think) was with Rice Rocket. At that time she said, "We are neutral, we kill who we want." Thus earning a KOS. Good Luck Mu, hope things turn out well.

Side note: The Horde claims to have some sort of an alignment with BRN.

If you see any of them, be very careful until we know if they can be trusted.

Fresh from DNN, .

Og and JoV recently announced that they have formed an alliance between the two guilds. The two PK guilds are well known in the Darktide community even though they are small in size. This marks a departure from their previous policies of having no allies.

The July patch is in, and some folks are not happy. What’s your opinion? Post it on the messageboard.

I don’t know what your opinion is of 3^rd party apps, but Nerfus Buffus 2 is a piece of work. Try it you might like it.

Misheron of the Rage of Angels (RoA) has been given to a RL friend. If you see her/Livonya Sloan/ Reya---, please be sure to say Hello. We have been assured that the new player an honorable person. Still RoA ? I don’t know. We shall see. Good bye Mishy we shall miss you.

Remember, school is out. There may be vast numbers of lower level, wanna-be killers out there so watch your backs and the backs of your friends. Don’t let these little heathens hurt you. There are also a number of new characters from the other servers trying to find out what PK is all about before they move to AC2. Look out for them, there could be good recruits out there. If they don’t like AC2 they may need a home. This may be the place. With all the guild changes, CDW/Sanman is going to be an oldie but goodie. A veritable graybeard in the land of Dereth.
