3rd - 6th GRADE PROGRAM / FEES

Enrollment: Acceptance into C.E.A. is based on one’s homeschool experience, application, interview, and the academic readiness of the student. It is subject to review each year. Enrollment of your child is a financial commitment to our program for a period of one full year.

Attendance: C.E.A.'s school calendar will be provided at the beginning of each term. Class meets from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Due to the intense, concentrated nature of instruction offered at C.E.A., any absence will seriously undermine the benefits of our program and may result in additional work for our teachers. The program will work most effectively for your child if the student attends all classes and completes all assigned work.

Class Size: Small classes help ensure an excellent learning environment for our students. Our goal is to provide a low teacher/pupil ratio with no more than twelve students per grade school class. The Board reserves the right to increase this ratio slightly as needed.

Fees: An annual enrollment fee of $75 is charged for each child. The cirriculum/book fees will be approximately $235 - $295 depending on the class. This includes a $100 student fee for liability insurance, yearbook, shipping costs, copier/printer expenses, etc. If parents wish to supply any of the required books, the Cirriculum Credit Form must be submitted to the Office by June 1, to recieve credit on thier book fees.

Tuition: Tuition is to be paid over a 10-month period beginning in June. For grades 3 - 6, the tuition for 2007-2008 is $1,700 ($170/month). Payment is due on the first of each month. Parents are required to sign an Annual Agreement Form at enrollment, which includes a financial agreement. Parents understand the full year’s tuition is due even if they choose to withdraw their child from the program. (Tuition is subject to change each year.)

Grades: Teachers maintain records of each child's grades. Report cards are issued at the end of each nine-week period. Two parent/teacher conferences are scheduled each year.

Dress Code: Students are required to be clean, neat and modest in appearance. Clothing, accessories, and jewelry must not be a distraction or hindrance to the learning process. C.E.A.'s detailed dress code will be provided in the Parent Handbook.

Parental Involvement: Due to C.E.A.’s unique structure, parents must be willing and able to give considerable time and effort to support their child’s learning. Parents work with the classroom teacher to ensure optimum learning. They assist by grading certain papers, reviewing material with the child, introducing new math concepts as needed, and enhancing the program as desired. Parents must recognize that they remain “homeschoolers” even though they participate in C.E.A.’s program. Each family will be asked to serve throughout the year where needed, and required to sign up for one C.E.A. volunteer position, per child enrolled. Each of these positions will take an average of 4 - 6 hours of time per month. Sign-up sheets for volunteer positions are circulated prior to each school term. Parents are also expected to sign up for summer work sessions prior to the beginning of classes.
