Some ways you can join the Newsong Adoption Ministry team:

Translators and Interpreters	Assist in translating documents/letter from English to Chinese or Korean	1-2 Hrs/Mo
Notary Public	Provide notary services at a reduced ‘per adoption’ rate	2-5 Hrs/Mo
Storywriters	Assist families in documenting their adoption journey	5-10 Hrs/Mo
Childcare Providers	Provide childcare for various functions	5-20 Hrs/Mo
Graphic Artist	Provide services to help design the ministry logo
Photographer	Donate photography services for various projects	1-3 Hrs/Mo
Adoption Attorney	Willing be provide minor counsel relating to adoption legal issues	1-10 Hrs/Mo
Tax Consultant	Provide assistance regarding tax benefits and tax laws for adoptive families	1-5 Hrs/Mo

Donate Frequent Flyer Miles

Many families are required to travel overseas when adopting a child internationally.  If you have frequent flyer miles that you’d like to donate, please contact us.

*  Adoption processing fees/costs

The costs associated with adoption are agency fees, INS government fees, homestudy fees and other processing fees.  A child is not sold or bought.

 

A family that decides to build their family via adoption is just as 'real' and forever of a family as one that decides to build their family via birth children.  Just as God joins man and woman through a promise made in marriage, adoption is a promise between a family and a child.  Blood ties are strong, but ties bound by God are even stronger.

* Real parent - an adoptive parent is the child's real parent

* The child was given away

* Their real children or Their adopted children

Should a family have both biological and adopted children, both are considered the parent's REAL children.

Insensitive Comments:

* How nice for you to rescue that child.

* I bet now that you adopted, you'll get pregnant.

* You are such a good parent, just like a real mother!

* Why did you adopt a child of a different race? or

* That child sure is lucky.

* What do you know about the child's 'real' parents?
