The tradition continues in 2009 with the 6th annual RI Comedy Fest at the Stadium Theater in Woonsocket at 8 pm. Last year we had such a great show introducing a bunch of new comics to one of the biggest stages in the area that we've decided to increase that part of the show with this year's APRIL FOOLS Contest. Four comics will be competing in 4 weekly contests on Wed. nights at Catch A Rising Star in Twin River. It starts April 1st and Frank O'Donnell is the host. Comedy Zone Center Stage

We've also decided to work with the new comedy venue CENTER STAGE at the Showcase Cinema Warwick. They've been featuring top comic weekend shows with the COMEDY ZONE and they've offered to cover the southern part of the state qualifying. That date is Thursday April 19 at 7pm. Now for those who want to see the Ocean State Follies, they are appearing Friday April 24th with an all new
show and all-new cast members showing tons of all new skits and songs. It'll be at the West Valley Inn, with a

A four-week competition at Catch A Rising Star that will send four contestants; the Warwick Showcase will send one; and YouTube will give us one – and there might even be some ties! All qualify for the FINALS at the Rhode Island Comedy Festival where they'll compete for at least $500 in cash and prizes.

Thursday Night, April 16, Showcase Warwick CENTER STAGE

• THE KEY TO WINNING: Audience applause determines one winner each week. Yes, it's as unfair as that! Bring friends!
• Contestants will perform 5-minute sets or risk disqualification
• One additional winner will be decided by Video Wildcard
• Open to any comic performer, regardless of experience level, Must be 18+, 2 person teams okay

Five finalists will appear at the Rhode Island Comedy Festival, Saturday April 25 at the Stadium Theatre in Woonsocket by 7 pm
