Letters of Recommendation

If you would like to have Mr. Bausback write a letter of recommendation for you, please read over this information and print out and fill out the application below and return it to Mr. Bausback with your addressed and stamped envelopes and reference forms. I am happy and honored to write letters of recommendation for students who applied themselves and excelled in my courses.

Please read and note the following:

Out of respect for my time and planning, I need to receive your materials a minimum of two school weeks before the postmark deadline. I have all my files and records at SMHS and so I do not work on recommendations during vacation due to family commitments. If you need it in less time, it would be best to ask someone else for your letter.

Please make your request and deliver your materials to me in person. I will not respond to requests left in my box or delivered to me by someone other than who the letter is about. If would be best to ask me before you fill out all the material. When you ask for a letter of recommendation, you are asking for a personal favor, and this is simply honoring and respecting this.

I only complete written letters of recommendation, which will be sent through the USPS.

If you are submitting the "Common Application," I only do these online now. It's very easy to use their site and it's very convenient for you as well as for me. Go to their site, listed below, and sign up and they will email me a request to complete your online common application.

NOTE: Most colleges would like letters of recommendation to be from teachers you had as a Junior or a Senior. If you had me as a teacher in your sophomore year only, make sure this is acceptable for your college application (that I was a sophomore year teacher) before asking me to write one.
