If music is a universal language, then Chuck Lawson will be understood anywhere he chooses to go. To describe his music, one must use words like: exciting, energetic, and expressive. Chucks extensive performance schedule includes special events, restaurants, clubs, fetivals, wedding receptions, corporate functions, boat shows, and holiday parties. His dramatic, fun loving, and down-right entertaining performances seem to create a contagious energy for audiences of all ages. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Chuck has made the beautiful Emerald Coast of Florida his home. He studied voice, composition, and arranging at Western Kentucky University and taught himself to play the piano and guitar. Chuck holds a Bachelor of Music degree, has studied and performed throughout the United States and Europe, and is a juried roster performer for the Performing Artist Directories of the States of Kentucky and South Carolina. |
The strength of his compositional skills has established him as an outstanding songwriter and arranger. Chucks songs possess that elusive commercial quality while still maintaining true creative expression. His arranging skills are powerfully evident in the unique and sensitive voicing of his supporting vocals blended with the dynamic intensity of his entire band. Associate producer on his first album, "Other Side of Paradise", Chuck sole produced his second, "Chuck Lawson Live in Concert", following his highly acclaimed full production "Guest Artist Series Tour". Using his acoustic trio, Chuck released his third album, "Make Believe You Love Me". With his unique tropical island / calypso sound, Chucks newly released fourth album, "Coconut Moon", chronicles his Gulf coast adventures from New Orleans to Key West.
During the first moments of his performance, a special connection is apparent between Chuck and his audience. The combination of his musical education, experience, and performance skill allows Chuck to create an unforgettable musical adventure in his live concert appearances. He has been recognized for his musical accomplishments by the State Legislature of Tennessee, the Kentucky Cabinet for Education, Arts, and Humanities, and the State of South Carolina Arts Commission. Chucks need to set his music free, combined with his heartfelt energetic performances make this artist rise far above the crowd. Music is not what he does, it is simply what he is.
