Our church had its humble beginnings in February 1947, when the "Mission of the Holy Spirit" was established. Its earliest services were held at the Memorial Hall in Shannock. A ground breaking ceremony was held in May 1948. The main portion of the church was built and a service dedication was held in May 1955. From our meager beginnings in 1947, our church was moved by truck in three pieces to its current site in April 1963.
Since that time we have evolved into a very active church community striving to fill a need for spiritual discovery through God's word.
In the unpredictable and somewhat tumultuous world that we now live in, Holy Spirit is a church committed to the comprehensive holistic growth of our congregation in spirituality and discipleship through worship and Christian education.
Our Godly Play program for our youth as well as our various adult education classes help support our desire for spiritual and holistic growth throughout our congregation from our youngest members to our most elder parishioners.
We are a very enthusiastic and ambitious mission looking forward to continuing to spread the Good News in our community of Charlestown as well as in our neighboring communities.
