Dennis and Patricia Price have given excellent leadership to the music ministry of Churchland Baptist Church for over one third of a century. Patricia joined the church staff as organist in 1962 when she was the director of the choral music program at Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth. Dennis joined the church staff in 1966. The Price's have a son and a daughter. Their daughter, Hunter, and her family (including twins John and Will) are active members of the church.
Dennis taught chorale in North Carolina before coming to Chesapeake. He taught chorale at Deep Creek High School from 1962-1968. He became the Director of Music at Churchland Baptist Church in July 1966. In 1968, he moved to Western Branch High School. Dennis excelled as a choral teacher in the public schools and was teacher of the year for Western Branch High School in 1983. His chorale at Western Branch won gold or silver awards for all 28 years that he taught there, as well as winning gold and silver medals in national and international competitions. Many of his students in the chorale program at the high school return and sing with the Churchland Baptist choir for special music events. Dennis has been an active member of the Virginia Music Educators Association, Virginia Choral Directors Association, and the American Choral Directors Association. He was named Virginia's "Music Educator of the Year" in 1991. Dennis continues to serve in the community through the Chesapeake Fine Arts Commission and the Portsmouth Community Concert Association. Dennis is also a member of the Churchland Rotary Club.

Patricia, a graduate of Greensboro College, has also been active in community activities. She has served as President of the Portsmouth Music Study Club and as District Director of the Virginia Federation of Music Clubs.
