You are important to us at Churchland Baptist Church. We pray that you may always feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued as a child of God in every encounter with us. We hope that you will visit us soon so that we can get to know you and that you can grow to know us. The pages on this website introduce us to you. We pray that as you view them, you will find an excitement for what God has done here in the past, energy for what God is doing among us now, and the vision God has given us for the future.

Churchland Baptist Church is one of the most accessible Baptist churches in the Hampton Roads area, as our map indicates. While a century ago our church was on the road from Portsmouth to Suffolk, we are now a church with a regional membership that comes from as far as 30 miles to worship and participate. Our membership comes from Norfolk, Great Bridge and Greenbriar (Chesapeake), Newport News, and Virginia Beach, as well as nearby communities like Western Branch (Chesapeake), Portsmouth, and Suffolk.

Churchland worships in a warm, but reverent and dignified way. Music, scripture, silent and corporate prayer, confession and forgiveness of sin, and sermons guide and enable persons to grow in faith both as individuals as well as the family of faith (the church). We pray that we might experience Christ's presence and grace in each and every worship event.

We invite you to visit us and to get acquainted with us. There is a place for you here. We pray that you will know that if you are led of God's spirit to this local faith family, you will be embraced and loved as a brother or sister in Christ.

Together, may we see God more clearly through the worship we offer. May we grow in our faith together as we seek to be faithful disciples. May the fellowship we share with one another provided by God's human touch in our lives. May the service and ministry we share together extend the love of Christ our Lord around us and to the entire world. May the witness we give in both deed and word be effective in making Christ our Lord visible to all persons we encounter.

Churchland Baptist Church supports missions through the Work of the 175 year old Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) and through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF), in addition to the Baptist World Alliance, Alliance of Baptists, and the American Baptist Church.

The worship services are recorded on cassette. Copies are available from members of the Library Committee.
