September 20, Little River, Easy

Plan to paddle the Little River in northern Baldwin County, Alabama on Saturday, September 20. This is a good creek for beginners to get some moving water experience.  The shuttle will leave at 9:00 AM from the Stagecoach Café in Stockton, Alabama which is about 10 miles north of Bay Minette on highway 59.  The café (which serves breakfast) is located at the intersection of highways 225 and 59.  Put in will be at the bridge on county road 1 about a 30-minute drive from the café.  Take out will be at highway 59. Expect to spend about 5 hours on the river.  Mark Vance, 251-458-7574.

October 25-26, Hurricane Lake Annual Campout & Paddle

Plan to join the Club for our annual campout and creek paddle. This is one of the best-attended events of the year and there’s no doubt about why…lots of food, fun, and fellowship. Folks will be paddling creeks and lakes all around northeast Santa Rosa County. We will be camping in the Blackwater River State Forest; at 190,000 acres it is the largest state forest in Florida. Look for more information in next month’s newsletter.

December 6, WFCC Christmas Party
