The designer's company, Howland Aero Design produced prefabricated kits for the H-3 and
later for the H-2 until 1995, when Mr. Howland died following a lengthy illness. Although
the kits are no longer available, the designs can still be built from homebuilder plans,
published and distributed exclusively by Classic Aero Enterprises (CAE).
Homebuilder plans sets have two parts: first, the engineering drawings, in 11" x
17" format; and second, the designer's construction notes and an appended raw
materials listing. Average building time for the H-2 is 800 to 900 hours; for the H-3, 700
to 800 hours.
Cost of plans for either aircraft is $250.00, payable in U.S. funds, by check or money
order. The purchase order form can be printed out by selecting "Ordering Plans."
