Cleomes are also known as spider flowers.   These plants come up from seeds every year in a variety of colors.  These are the two extremes of the colors.

This is the ground cover orchid known as bletilla.  They form little clumps of lavender colored flowers.  Sweet.

The daffodils that we had this year were all from previous years' plantings.  We have to get varieties that make it through the moist Louisiana weather without rotting.

I really like the way the shadow looks in this photo.  Plus the fence in the background has a rustic feel to it.  It's a keeper.  I don't know what the flower is.  It came up from the neighbor's yard.

This nicotiana does really well at Cloud's End.  It reseeds year after year.  We let several grow a year and they reward us by giving us a wonderful fragrance in the evenings.

Delphiniums do not usually look like this.  I took a close-up of the terminal flower on the stalk.  My friend Brenda liked this one so much I made an enlargement for her.  It's the least I could do after breaking her frame!

July 2002 - This Dancing Ladies ginger has the botanical name of globba.  If you like the plant, use the common name.  If you don't like it, call it globba!
