2003 - Dianthus is a good plant to have as long as you have the right variety for your climate.  This one seems to thrive in the heat of Southern Louisiana.

 Delphiniums add such a nice blue color to the spring garden.  This one is located near the roses in the front garden along the street.

The poppies are vibrant in color sometimes.  This one is a nice, bright cherry color.

We have a few gazanias around the gardens and they have come back every year so far.

Gazanias do a good job of getting people's attention when they open.  Of course they don't open until the sun shines on them and warms them up a little.

The first poppy of 2002 was a red and white one.  I like the way the color of the foliage contrasts so well with the flower.

The philippino lilies perform well every year.  It reseeds alot, so we let them come up in certain areas and eradicate the rest.  The flowers look and smell clean and fresh.

This is the type of poppies that do best for us.  We tried a variety of different types, but they don't do as well as these simple corn poppies (papaver rhoes).
