The
English Rose 'Heritage' has flowers that are a clear pink and nicely cupped.
This is one of the English Roses that grow really tall here in the South.
It is at least 6 feet tall. It flowers throughout the summer.

I
have heard some disparaging remarks about the English Rose 'Graham Thomas.'
It does get black spot often, but not too seriously. The flowers
are such a golden honey yellow and they have a great fragrance. We
didn't pay attention to those negative remarks, we bought a second one!

The
Hybrid Tea rose 'Mrs. Oakley Fisher,' has flowers that are single and the
color of cantaloupe. There is a nice, sweet fragrance that accompanies
the delicate petals. As you can see in the photo, the foliage is
a nice, deep green.

The
antique rose 'Lamarque' was introduced in the 1830's. It is a vigorous
climber with a yellowish white flower. This rose bloomed all throughout
the winter of 1999. The Antique Rose Emporium mentioned having blooms
of this rose on their table at Christmastime. Truth in advertising.

This
is one of my favorite photos. The rose is the floribunda 'Easy Going,'
a recent introduction. It is the sport of one of our favorite roses,
'Livin' Easy.' The bush grows to around 5 or 6 feet and is
shaped like a bouquet. It is a great rose for a garden setting.

'Madame
Isaac Perriere' is an old Bourbon rose. It has canes that are almost
20 feet long, so we have it growing on arches along the fenceline.
It has wonderfully full double flowers in the spring and in the fall.
The fragrance on this rose is reportedly the best of all roses. I
have to agree that it is one of the better fragrances around.

'Don
Juan' is a great red climber. We have it growing on an arch leading
to the back corner of the garden.

April
2002 - The roses along the fence looked great this year. The new
fence helped to make the picture more enjoyable. You can't see the
chain link fence anymore. The rose is called 'Celine Forestier.'
