Christmas 2002 - These lights are becoming a tradition.

The garden in the fall. The variegated grass to the right was
very showy in the afternoon when the sun made it glow a silvery sheen.

April 2001 - We were on a garden tour put on by Hilltop arboretum.
The weather turned out perfect and the garden was at a peak. In the
center of the photo is Chuck's mother Barbara.

This is our mascot Kew. I've seen him perched like this several times,
and this time he cooperated with me so I could get this photograph.

We were in the back room and we heard a loud thump in the living room.
When we went in there, we saw this impression on the glass. A dove had
hit the window and (sadly) died as a result. I had to take a photo
of the mark it left on the window. Is this similar to a death mask.

The snow didn't melt on the grass paths like it did on the stone ones.
It makes it look like a bit more snow fell this way!

In April 2002 Better Homes and Gardens photographed the garden for
one of their special interest publications. I took this photo early
in the morning when there was still mist in the air. I like its dreamy
quality.

This was the first setup for the Better Homes & Gardens photoshoot.
I had been noticing the red China rose in the center of the photo for a few
days, and this photograph framed it nicely.
