April 2001 - As you walk from the west side to the back garden, this is
the view. The white climbing rose 'Prosperity' on the first arch did
really well this year. It even had a dove's nest in it.

This is what the front garden looked like for the 2001 tour.
The rose in the back is 'Livin' Easy' and it got a lot of attention that day.
It is one of our favorites too.

This is another early morning shot before the Better Homes & Gardens
photoshoot. That surveyor's tripod was in the garage when
we moved here and it makes a nice support for the gloriosa lily.

Alana and John had their engagement/wedding photos taken at Cloud's End.
I decided to take a few shots while they were here. I like the way this
one came out. The flowers frame them nicely.

April 2002 - This is the best that the front garden has ever looked.
It has that cottage garden look that we've been working on. Roses and
delphinium are prominent in this photo.

This is what the garden looked like on the morning of Art in the Garden.
You can see Ann Warner's
interpretation
of it on her website. She did a great job and she shared her artistic
viewpoint in ways that have been useful in photographing the garden.

Here is a photo of one of the workshop artists. Her name is Julie
Ashton and she produced a fantastic painting of the garden. It was
fun to watch her through the morning as she was painting.

|
This is Julie's painting. We decided to buy it once she let us know
she would be willing to sell it. She later displayed it in a showing
of her artwork and several people wanted to purchase it. I'm just glad
I had first dibs on it!
