Although you don't see many Westerns made these days, there is still an interest in the American old West. From the 1940's to the 60's there were numerous TV series and movies produced about "How the West was Won". I hope this site will help you appreciate Westerns. This site only hopes to honor the men and women that gave their blood, sweat, tears, and sometimes their lives. My great grandfather, while in his teens, was in the Oklahoma Run. The stories I have heard from my parents and others have deepened my respect for all the sacrifices made by the settlers. My father's grandmother was part Indian and it has given me an appreciation for their nobility and losses as a people. |
