Purple Bounces Back for
Win: After a tough defeat last week the Purple team rebounded for a 1-0
win to finish their ODSL D1 season with six wins and two losses.
Natalie ripped in a bullet from the right side of the box on an assist from
Jen, and Jess, Ciana & company posted their 3rd shutout of the season.
Morgan, Logan, and Rita made numerous tough tackles to hold the lead.
With 17 goals scored and only 7 surrendered,
the Comets Purple tied for the division lead in goals scored and had the
third-stingiest defense. Excellent season ladies! Purple
concludes the fall next weekend at the NVSC Fall Classic Tournament.
White Closes on High
Note: The Comets
White played their best all around match of the season to wrap up the fall
with a 2-0 win. Kacey finished on a great feed from Kelli and Kelsey
blasted home the other score on a 32-yard direct kick. Bri, Laila, and
Kelli played superb soccer and the back line possessed extremely well.
See the goals here.
The White team finished its WAGS D3 season with
five wins, only one loss, and four ties, scoring 23 goals and surrendering
only seven. They were the top scoring team in the division and
gave up the second fewest goals. Great job girls!
Purple Win Streak
Reaches 5 Games: The
Comets Purple stayed on top of the table with a 2-1 win last week and a 1-0
victory on Sunday. Natalie poked in a corner from Rachel for the score
Sunday. Playing with no subs, the team worked hard for the shutout and
a list of star performers would read like the game day roster. Last
week in WV, Jen slipped in a late game winner on a feed from Rachel for the
dramatic finish. The wins set up a good match with the 2nd place PAC
Blue Fury next Sunday.

Burger Benefit at
Foster's Grille: The event at Foster's Grille in Westfields is being
rescheduled - maybe for November 15. Look for the new date soon. Foster's, a Comet sponsor, will donate 10 percent
of the tab to the program!
Sister Smooch: The
White team jumped out to a 2 goal lead on strikes from Kelsey and Laila, but
had to settle for a 2-2 tie despite a strong charge near the end when the
opposing keeper made some quality saves. The Comets White remain
unbeaten in the division with 4 wins and 4 ties.
Offensive Explosion: The Comets
Purple continued their scoring resurgence with a third straight victory.
Natalie notched two goals and an assist and Rachel had a goal and two
assists to lead the offense. Grace knocked home a nice volley and
Megan and Jen each scored in their second consecutive game. Brooke
added an assist and Morgan, Logan and Brianna came ready to tackle.
Near Miss:
Facing good competition in the Discovery Cup, the Comets White played hard
and just missed qualifying for the semifinals after three close matches - a
win, a loss, and a tie. Laila accounted for the scoring with two
goals.
Still Unbeaten:
The Comets White stayed unbeaten in WAGS play this fall with a 3-0 victory.
Kelsey knocked home two scores and Laila rang up the other in a very solid
team effort. Devin excelled in the back and Tina made a nice save to
preserve the shut out.
Quality Showing:
The Comets Purple put forward another strong effort to win 3-1.
Natalie had a hand (or foot) in all of the scoring. She rapped in the
finish on a nice ball from Casey and also set up goals for Jen and Megan.
The entire team showed heart and hustle, with Ciana and Jen joining Natalie
as standout performers.

Purple Puts It Together:
The Comets Purple got their groove back in a big way over the weekend,
posting their first win in impressive fashion. The Purple beat a
talented Culpeper Comets team, 3-0. The Culpeper team won the last two ODSL Division 1 Championships and hadn't lost a
regular season match in 27 tries going back to June 2007. Brooke
scored twice on feeds from Jen and Grace, and Sarah pounced on a rebound
from a Rachel blast to account for the scoring. The combination play,
intensity, and focus was great!
White Poised for
Stretch Run: Playing four WAGS games in the past two weekends, the
Comets White earned three wins and a tie, elevating them to 2nd place with
four games to go. The White team has the highest goal tally in the
division and the highest goals per game average. The defense has
been stingy to boot, giving up less than a goal per game and ranking 2nd best so far
in goals against average.
