How to Practice Meditation for Personal Benefits and Spiritual Growth Meditation techniques and routines for all levels of practice and practical, holistic lifestyle guidelines. A guided meditation practice session will be experienced. Some benefits of regular meditation practice are stress reduction, slowing of biologic aging processes, rational thinking, improved intellectual and intuitive powers, enhanced appreciation for life and living, and more satisfying spiritual growth.
Roy Eugene Davis is a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda and the founder nad director of Center for Spiritual Awareness with international headquarters in Lakemont, Georgia. During the past fifty years he has taught meditation and spiritual growth processes in more than 100 U.S. cities, Canada, Japan, Brazil, England, Europe, Africa, and India. Some of his books are published in ten languages and eleven countries. Mr. Davis is a member of the executive board of the International New Thought Alliance. His books, and free literature, will be available at the seminar.
We are honored to welcome the internationally renowned author, teacher, and speaker ROY EUGENE DAVIS to SDCSL to present his 2006 Southern California Meditation Seminar. The seminar will be held in the Sanctuary from 2 PM - 5 PM. Love Offering. Please arrive early as we anticipate a very full house.

We are pleased to announce a special "sneak preview" showing of the long-awaited feature film The Celestine Prophecy with post-screening Discussion led by Rev. John Poleski. Based on James Redfield's worldwide best-selling novel, The Celestine Prophecy is a spiritual adventure film chronicling the discovery of ancient scrolls in the rainforests of Peru. The prophecy and its nine key insights predict a worldwide awakening, arising within all religious traditions, that moves humanity toward a deeper experience of spirituality. The film features an international ensemble cast including Matthew Settle, Thomas Kretschmann, Sarah Wayne Callies, Annabeth Gish, Hector Elizondo, Joaquim de Almeida and Jurgen Prochnow.

Blessed with the gift of speaking from the heart with clarity that touches souls and changes lives, Rev. Kathy's inspirational messages are simply not to be missed. We invite you to join us as she speaks on Renewal as we enter into our sixth year as a spiritual community in the downtown San Diego area.
Rev. Dr. Kathy Hearn is the Community Spiritual Leader of United Centers for Spiritual Living, the first to hold this position in a full-time, elected capacity. She has been a practicing Religious Scientist since 1980, ordained by Rev. Terry Cole-Whittaker in 1985 and by UCRS in 1989. She founded Pacific Church of Religious Science in San Diego where she was Senior Minister for 15 years.
Rev. Kathy has been active in the leadership of UCSL, having held the positions of President and Vice President of United Clergy of Religious Science and Vice Chair of the International Board of Trustees. She is the former Director of Holmes Institute--San Diego Regional Center, and is an instructor in the Holmes Institute Graduate School of Consciousness Studies.
Rev. Kathy is the mother of two wonderful children, Ian and Susana, and she lives in La Jolla, California.

BROTHER ISHMAEL TETTEH is the Founder and Spiritual Director of the Etherean Mission in Ghana, West Africa. The Etherean Mission is a trans-denominational metaphysical organization dedicated to self-awareness and the study of the natural sciences. As an international speaker, Brother Ishmael has delivered his message of World Peace over the past 29 years empowering thousands of lives from Africa, to Germany, to the UK and now the United States. He is the author of more than 18 self-study books, tapes and musical CDs, Brother Ishmael's teachings for the harmonious functioning of the mind, body and spirit have guided countless individuals to a better life. In addition to a Special Congressional Award for outstanding and invaluable service in the international community, Brother Ishmael's works have been honored throughout the state of California.
REV. GORDON BISHOP, Ed.D., is the Founding Minister of Downtown Community Church in the revitalized urban core of San Diego and an ER Chaplain with Sharp Grossmont Hospital. Dr. Bishop was a career educator before he was Ordained. He is a former School Superintendent, President of the NewSchool of Architecture, and President of Holmes Institute School of Consciousness Studies. He and his wife, Dr. Karen Bishop, reside in downtown San Diego and travel extensively.
