Standard matches are currently defined as any game over 10 minutes time control. Blitz matches are 10 minutes or less. Keep in mind that as the rating system is only a month old, a rating above about 2200 are nearly impossible to attain currently. In general a typical 2100 rated player has a rating around 1750-1850. Currently, there are 235 registered users in the ICS database, with an average of around 10 players during the day, with peaks at above 20 in the afternoon and occasionally the evenings. I'm happy to report, you can nearly always find a game on ICS, no matter when you call. Look for the up and coming ICS tournament, the details of which are still being worked out. Competition will revolve around obtaining the title of the first "Internet World Champion", and all readers, registered or not, will be encouraged to participate.
