Reply to Author | Forward | Print | Individual Message | Show original | Report Abuse ICS is once again alive and well and living in Missouri! The Internet Chess Server (ICS) is an interactive program allowing you to play real time chess with another person over the internet. If you register, your game statistics including ratings are saved and updated on a per game basis (ratings are evaluated by the USCF standard). We currently have a wide range of players from Class E all the way up to Expert and above. You can, of course, try the server without registering, however, none of your stats will be recorded. Currently, there is only one server (myself), and hopefully the number will grow to allow faster, easier access to chess partners around the world. It can be accessed by telnet via port 5000 on parsifal.umkc.edu. Unix users: % telnet parsifal.umkc.edu 5000 VMS users: $ telnet/port=5000/unix parsifal.umkc.edu For a registered account, send a desired handle and desired password to myself, c...@parsifal.umkc.edu. The server is *fairly* stable but has a few bugs (almost all of which are known). You can type 'help bugs' once in to see if one you've noticed is recognized. If not, please email myself or Richard Nash (The Code Maintenance Man) at n...@menu.visus.com.
