Reply to Author | Forward | Print | Individual Message | Show original | Report Abuse You may have noticed that the eaststar ics is down; This is because the machine it is running on can no longer be used to run it. So, again, I am looking for a new site to run / develop it from. I remember talking to someone on the server, around the time that it moved to eaststar, and they said that if there were ever a problem finding a site, to talk to them - well, this seems to be a problem, but unfortunately I can't for the life of me remember who I was talking to. :( If you're that person, or if you have a machine available from which it could be run (preferrably in the western half of the US, and definitely not out of the US), please contact me at a...@vector.uoregon.edu. I would need an account, and probably around 4-5 megs of working disk-space. The game usually does not use over 2 megs of ram, and that amt will be reduced drastically soon, I suspect, once I start fixing up the data structures. (ie, once finals are over and I have free-time again). The machine should probably be >= a 68040 NeXT in processing power, or there could be some speed-problems on the game. (While recompiling, anyways - I doubt it would impact regular performance). The faster the machine's link to the internet, the better. -Aaron PS - Please don't offer any accounts that the system administrator would not know about. (ie, talk to him/her about the possibility of a chess server before just letting me run one on the machine, as many of them will not want the resources used for something like this).
