Reply to Author | Forward | Print | Individual Message | Show original | Report Abuse On this newsgroup I've seen several references to "ICS". Is that the Internet Chess Server or something similar? If there is such a thing, I'd appreciate any information about it. I would like to play chess over the Internet. Any X Chess apps out there? -Thanks in advance, Nick Fitanides Thomas Bantel Aug 10 1992, 9:46 pm show options Newsgroups: rec.games.chess From: t...@qt.IPA.FhG.de (Thomas Bantel) - Find messages by this author Date: Tue, 11 Aug 1992 10:42:15 GMT Local: Tues, Aug 11 1992 3:42 am Subject: Re: ICS? The internet addresses are: valkyries.andrew.cmu.edu (128.2.232.4) eve.assumption.edu (192.80.61.5) To connect type telnet [address] 5000 and login with any name and the password "guest". There is a X-interface available (called xics) via FTP, but I don't know the address of the FTP-server by heart. The address should be included in the rec.games.chess FAQ-list. Enjoy ... Thomas Bantel
