Animals were feasting on a bug to boost their ratings at the expense of other chessplayers. Yes, it was common for some players to castle twice anytime they were in danger of losing. These spineless slime-dogs were having a field day and making the server a joke for real chess. So beware. Until the castling bug is fixed (hopefully soon) any opponent you play on the server might castle twice then smugly leave you a 'smiley face' comment to exclaim their lack of morals. Truely though, you have to feel sorry for people so out of touch that they cheat to keep from losing a game of chess. Sad, real sad. - Doak "who only cares about his non-existant FIDE rating anyway" Heyser David Shorten Dec 5 1992, 11:01 am show options Newsgroups: rec.games.chess From: d...@unislc.uucp (David Shorten) - Find messages by this author Date: Fri, 4 Dec 1992 19:21:25 GMT Local: Fri, Dec 4 1992 11:21 am Subject: Re: Animals run wild on the ICS server Reply to Author | Forward | Print | Individual Message | Show original | Report Abuse What is the ICS server and how do I play on it? Not that the bug shouldn't be fixed, but it seems to me that it would be a relatively rare occurance that a player could have his pieces on the right squares to castle twice in a game. That's probably the reason it took so long to come up, although from Doak's tone it must have happened more than once to him. Pete -- Peter Bereolos bereo...@ecn.purdue.edu pur-ee!bereolos
