What would a home page be without links to other web pages?
In most cases, better. Is it really necessary for everyone to have links on their home pages? I don't think so. There are plenty of web pages out there that are nothing but links. I don't feel the need to clutter up the web with another page full of links that you've seen a on a hundred other home pages (half of which are obsolete anyway).
