You'll notice that none of my pages have animated GIFs, background images, blinking, frames, java, or javascript. I also don't mess with your default colors. There's a reason for that: Those features are obnoxious. At least they're obnoxious when mindlessly applied for no reason. If I ever have a good reason to use any of those features on my pages, I will. So far, I've never felt the need. Why waste the bandwidth?

I try to keep my pages as small and simple as possible. Most pages have one or two small graphics for flavor. (The money origami pages are loaded with graphics, but after all, they are illustrated instructions. Okay, I did induldge myself on my DC page, so sue me.) 99 ⁴⁴/₁₀₀% of you are accessing via modem, and I don't care to waste your time either.
