SHOOTING THE CHUTES & PONY BARN
These two early attractions of the park were side-by-side.
In the 1940s and 1950s many young New Englanders rode one of the Shetland
Ponies. Two of the more popular ponies were "PICKLES" and "RANGER".
The famous "PICKLES"
"PICKLES" was always ready to please
"The Chutes" was popular in the early 20th Century, as hot steamy
days could be relieved by a slide down the chute to a cool pool of
water.
As can be seen from the picture below, there was also a ride called
BALLOON ASCENSION.
