THE CRADLE

I wanted my field box to have a cradle to hold an aircraft while mounting the wings, performing field maintenance, fueling/defueling, etc.  So I devised a way to make a pair of removable cradles.
Using some 1/4" birch plywood, I cut, glued, and screwed a cradle mount to the side of the top box.

Again with 1/4" birch ply, I built the cradle itself.  When not in use, it carries nicely on the side of the box held in place by the included bungee style tie downs.

To use, you simply slide the cradle into the mounting bracket.  I built the cradle tall enough to hold a plane while allowing the top box lid to be opened and closed.
