THE CENTER DRAWER SECTION

The center drawer section measures 16"W x 8"D x 4"H.  This area is perfect for tool and accessory storage.  But I want to divide it up into sections and make a sliding rail for a plastic drawer organizer that I have.  So it's off to the table saw with some more 1/4" Birch plywood.

The dividers were cut and placed to fit perfectly for the items I intend to carry.  I finished the dividers with some gloss red rustoleum paint.   By using dividers like these, I can keep things from shifting around during transport.

I lined the front right compartment with foam to keep screwdrivers and wrenches from rattling around too much.
The rear right compartment was measured to fit and hold my socket, screw and hex bit set.
The left compartment is for general storage.
If you notice, the back and front wood plates are higher than the rest in order to provide support rails for a plastic drawer organizer

The drawer organizer is suspended over the other compartments and can slide back and forth to allow access to the compartments below.
