Capt Larry Page and SSgt Dick Mellor developed  the Launch Simulator Console. It was built so that a missile at a site would not have to be taken off alert for crew training. It was used daily to run countdowns and provide realistic faults and emergencies. Considerable time and expense was saved since the crews could get valuable training right on base.
(Page and Mellor split a $50.00 award for this project)
