As a prelude to and as a part of the 2000 reunion the squadron and wives plaques were created.

The squadron plaque was dedicated 11 June 2000 - Presentation of the plaque
was made by Lt. Col. Gerald Lipton.
The original idea for a squadron plaque came from Fred Brown at the Fairchild Museum.  He wanted  something from the 567th SMS on the memorial wall outside. Gary McNeece, Lannie Wright, and Dick Mellor drew up the  prototype. Dick also searched out how and who could make it. Mary Powell was pressed into service to collect the money, keep the accounts and write out checks as needed.

The wives plaque came about after a talk with Hiram Turner and Dick Mellor.  Elli Mellor came up with the idea for a Wives plaque, as an idea for something for the  Wives of 567th members.  Hi Turner came up with the wording on it. As many of the wives were having babies during our tour in the sqdn. Hi came up an idea to place a diaper pail  on the plaque.  Jeanne Eastep and Elli vetoed that in favor of  roses. The Wives plaque was presented at the 2000 reunion.

Dick Mellor suggested that part of the excess money should go to the  Museum, and the rest to the AF Memorial Foundation.

For the 2002 reunion and in recogniton of the maintenance contribution. Tim and Jeanne Eastep headed up the fund raising campaign for the maintenance plaque
