RICHARD NELSON
Crew Commander R-40
Born in Moscow, Idaho, died June 1999.  He graduated form Tekoa (Wash.) High School in 1947 and Washington State University in 1951. He served in the Air Force as a pilot during the Korean and Vietnam wars and a Crew Commander for the 567th SMS. He was discharged in 1971.
Survivors include his wife Maxine (Matney) Nelson; three daughters, Linda Werner and Sarah Nelson, both of Phoenix, and Bonnie Nelson of Los Angeles; two sons, Jerry Nelson of Syracuse, N.Y., and Richard Nelson of Phoenix; three grandchildren; and the extended Matney family, Mike, Debbie, Ron and Tina, and seven grandchildren.
