Removing one of the compression pins that hold the caliper in place. Hit it where, Dad?

Oh yeah, THERE!

One brake done. Time to replace the tire.

In lieu of a torque wrench measured in foot-pounds, we have a torque of one Cassandra-foot-pound.

Making sure the jack is directly under the jacking pin.

Checking clearance for the jack.

Cranking away. It sure would have been easier if we would have put a couple blocks under the jack so we didn't have as far to go.

Compressing the caliper. Sure looked easier in the book.
During the recent safety inspection, the inspector commented that one of the van's brake pads was too thin to pass. The easy way out was to pay the shop $100+ USD. Considering a set of top brake pads cost less than $30 USD, it seemed worth the $70+ to do it ourselves as well as having some quality father/daughter time.
