| This is an easy and inexpensive way to have projected video in your haunt. I have used this set up for many different effects, from a giant floating projected head to the mysterious crystal ball. Other uses are projecting on window shades, walls, it's endless what you use it for. You will need : thin plywood, or paneling, 1"square stock, color 12" TV, video projection lens from H&R Co. model #TM89OPT4296. Start by making the cradle for the TV. Cut 2 shapes similar to the one at the top of the page. Measure the width of the TV and then measure and cut from the 1"square stock 5 pieces, about 2" shorter the the width of the TV. Nail or screw the cradle together like the diagram. Rest the TV in the cradle, this will put it at the correct angle. Make a bracket to hold the lens from more of the 1" stock. and mount the lens in front of the screen. The lens only uses about a 3"square viewing area. You must have your image to be projected in the middle of your screen and no bigger than the 3" viewing area. Also the image will be projected upside down. There are two ways around this. One is to mount the TV upside down, or produce your video so it is viewed upside down. Other tips to get a good projection are to keep your images as bright as possible, and turn up the high contrast and hugh on the TV. One final step to keep out any stray light is to mask off the area of the screen around the lens not being projected. If you have any questions on this project please let me know. CONACT. |
