Revised August 8, 2004
Connecticut is a fascinating state. It is small yet diverse, populous yet rural. Its size and variety makes it useful to homeschoolers since its many resources are never very far away. Even the meccas of New York and Boston are just a few hours away.
My focus here is to make up a Virtual Travelguide to CT, first focusing on what is available on the Web concerning CT and later adding in actual places that may not have made it online yet, but that would be valuable to homeschoolers.
The State of Connecticut has established an excellent and very detailed site. Don't miss it! Included are areas on Government, the Economy, Recreation, Environment, Education, Libraries, and Transportation.
The CT Sites, Symbols, and Emblems sub page on the official State site is particularly interesting.
Be sure to check out the assortment of individual Connecticut Web pages that exist. This one is very old but may still useful in many places. Many places interesting to homeschoolers can be found there from Mystic Seaport to the Shubert Theater. I'll take a look at this list and tidy it up one of these days.
