Cziltang wanders the trackless wastes in search of truth, beauty and personal enlightenment. He had tried to be self-sufficient, growing his own ideas, but they withered and died in the great intellectual drought that gripped the land in his youth. One day, as he gazed at the parched landscape around him, he realized that somewhere there must be ideas growing. Somewhere, rational discourse must still survive. Since that day, he has searched for a mythical land of fields and forests of living ideas. Now and again he finds a thought or two in the rubble of an occasional deserted outpost of civilization. Its a hard way to live and its not much of a life, but that's just how it is, out here in the Ratlands |

link I had a little unexpected time this evening so I cleaned up the essay on Substance Abuse Treatment and posted it. Site Updates
link A quick check of the news sources shows not too much change on the state budget situation. And, of course, I still don't know how all of this is going to play out on the local corrections scene. I have uploaded all of my Stupid Criminal Tricks stories written to date. All the links appear to work, and I've asked a friend to check it out to make sure I haven't missed something. I've also posted the essay I wrote on Why I support the War in Iraq. I originally wrote it sometime around March 6, 2003. I don't remember the exact date, and I've moved it a couple of times and saved it in different formats, so that is the best estimate I could come up with. One other note: in the original article there was a link to an article in The National Interest online. Additions to "Stupid Criminal Tricks" and other notes
link Finished adding "The Twisted Tale of Frozen Frank" to the SCT section. It is one of my favorites. The Crazy Dave stories still aren't on the site, but I will get to them. I think I fixed the color compatibility problems. I fixed the archive tag problems by removing them from all pages except the weblog page. I figure no one will need to jump to the archives directly from an essay anyway. (Actually I figure no one will jump anywhere, as I expect 2 or 3 of my more polite acquaintances to take a look at the site in a "polite obligation" sort of way and that should pretty much sum up all my traffic.)by Cziltang Posted: Sunday, May 04 2003 01:47:42 AM |
