Linux Badgerlink
I've been working late for the last 2+ weeks training new staff. Aside from the
time involved and the time of day, the process is pretty intense, so even when I've
gotten home at a marginally decent hour I just haven't had the energy to write.
Today, however, I found (via The
Register) instructions for installing
Linux on a Dead Badger by Lucy A Snyder on Strange
Horizons:
Let's face it: any script kiddie with a pair of pliers can put Red Hat on a Compaq,
his mom's toaster, or even the family dog. But nothing earns you geek points like
installing Linux on a dead badger. So if you really want to earn your wizard hat,
just read the following instructions, and soon your friends will think you're slick
as caffeinated soap.
Read the whole thing. Then go check out the various sections of Strange Horizons
(which bills itself as a weekly speculative fiction magazine, but also has artwork,
various articles, and even some poetry).
