How long have you been standing there?
And reading what I've wrote.
How long have you been standing there,
before the words you had spoke?
I didn't mean to be startled,
or act as if I had something to hide,
but these are my private thoughts,
that I keep inside.
I wrote them down to help myself,
get through my troubled heart.
More problems,
I did not mean to start.
These are just some thoughts I had,
they come to me when I'm alone.
I do not write so that you will hurt,
I don't mean to cast a stone.
These are just some thoughts I had,
I need to work them out.
It is not time for me to tell,
And I need you not to shout.
So please be patient with me,
Give me time to work them though.
And slowly and surely, I'll find my way back to you.
