Cinderella was a gentle child
Warm and giving, always wearing a smile.
Her story well known, we tell our children,
But what lessons do we learn, do you get the hidden message?
Despite what she endured, she kept her head up,
In time she knew it would get better.
She didn't know when, but she did what she could,
She did what was asked, though it may be unfair,
Or seem cruel or wicked, she did what she had,
And in the end she got the best hand.
She left her family, and made a new life.
With the prince as her husband and a palace at her feet,
It is surprising what you get when you don't give into
defeat.
What do we learn of the messages within,
If we wait patiently and endure what we can,
We too can have a better end.
