WHO ARE WE?

The Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank is a totally private "food pantry". We do not operate under the auspices of any governmental or religious organization. We are staffed completely by volunteers. We pay NO salary to anyone involved with the food bank. 100% of contributions go to the cost of serving our clients.

Our nearly 70 volunteers come to us from all walks of life. Our vitality comes from the varied backgrounds, experiences, and talents of our volunteers. Most are retirees, both couples and single people who are interested in serving our community. Many have strong ties to churches or temples with service a basic element of the teachings of their faiths. Younger people assist us after school, often as a component of a particular subject in which they are enrolled.

The greatest percentage of our non-perishable food donations come from food drives conducted by the schools of the Paradise Valley Unified School District. Many religious, civic and business groups also contribute a substantial amount of food. The generosity of individuals is also vital to our operation. Perishable food is picked up daily from Bashas' Markets. Pizza Hut, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Whole Foods Market, Fry's Food Stores, and Paradise Bakery & Cafe also generously donate food to the food bank.
