A Throwback to Another Century --- The Uninsured Motorist Statute in Louisiana
Unisured motorist insurance helps protect drivers involved in accidents with uninsured motorists. It helps provide you with full insurance benefits despite the fact the other driver was uninsured. A quirk in the law is that if you are struck by a hit-and-run driver you and anyone else who may be provided insurance benefits cannot testify as to the accident. Not even a van-full of nuns could testify in they were in the damaged car with pending claims from the insurance company!
