Here are some photos of my 2003 Suzuki SV1000S
A special thank you to Bill Lennon's Suzuki of St. Augustine The best dealership in Florida.
My current 2003 Suzuki SV1000S
The side view. Note the removed rear fender and the low-profile front signals.
This was the first SV1000S I owned. I ended up crashing this one, but I
replaced it with another. I'm leaving this photo online to show the stock
exhaust. (photo by Doug Finger)
Side view #2. This is my current SV1000S with 3/4 Yoshimura exhaust, tank bra, rear hugger, rear seat cover, low-profile front signals. Fender is gone.
I found a $3 bracket at pep boys for the license plate and $7 amber LED's for the turn signals. (photo by Doug Finger)

30 JUN 2006: Wow! It's been over a year since I updated this page. Well all is well. The SV is running great. I've been to Deal's Gap twice since the last update. No problems with the bike. It has ~21,000 miles on it now.
25 JUN 2005: Just a quick update - all is well in SV-land. I did have to replace the brushes and endcap of my starter. The endcap was letting oil in and the brushes had just worn down. I probably could have had this done under warranty, but the parts were cheap so I just did it myself. Last week I put my 4th rear tire on - another Pirelli Diablo. The front is going to need to be replaced soon. 15-20 of us are going to Deal's Gap in August, so I want to have that sorted out by then. Oh yeah, I also flushed and changed my coolant. That's also a prety simple job, but you have to remove the front fairing. The bike looks pretty interesting without the front on. Around the same time I replaced my sprockets and chain. I kept the same gearing.
26 MAR 2005: Added integrated tail light photos to Mods section.
8 MAR 2005: Added rotary damper photos to Mods section. Bike is doing fine. Just over 11,000 miles. Winter is almost over.
29 NOV 2004: Long overdue site updates - I finally removed the old crash page and photos. I didn't like how some people had linked to them without linking to my page explaining the circumstances. Anyway, the latest news is that I have just over 9500 miles on the SV and over the Thanksgiving holiday I changed my front brake pads, adjusted the throttle play, and replaced the clutch fluid since mine was pretty dark black from the "carbon black" that leaches into the fluid over time. I also have 5500+ miles on my Pirelli rear tire and a new one will be here this week. That's 1500 more miles than I got out of the stock pilot sports, but then again I haven't done a single burnout with the diablos (too much money to burn away!)
23 AUG 2004: I'm still live and kicking, but I'm a slacker once again when it comes to site updates. Nothing too exciting to report. I have about 3K miles on my diablos now and I still love 'em. Finally, cleaned and lubed the chain this weekend after too much neglect. The bike is no longer "ol' Squeaky" as I was starting to call her. ;)
8 APR 2004: OK, I've been slacking on the updates, but I've been busy. Let me just say that we went to Gainesville Raceway yesterday and it was a blast. I've never done it before, so I was kinda slow, but I got better each run. I posted the time slips: Runs 1 and 2 and Runs 3 and 4. I was number 36.
4 MAR 2004: I got the K&N filter on 2.21 - the same day as the dyno test and tune. I pulled 110 RWHP which seemed low for the mods I had. I'm not
convinced that the dyno guys were being super careful since they had a line of people at $30 a bike. Anyway, last week I received my Scotts Performance rotary damper. GO GET ONE OF THESE!!!
Absolutely what I've needed all along. The same day last week, I got my Icon gloves. They are pretty hardcore - the full gauntlet gloves with the metal plates. The weather is getting to be wonderful again. I'm heading to Daytona tomorrow for the races on Saturday. When I get back, I'll update the site with some new photos of the latest events and modifications.
19 FEB 2004: The final pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. I installed the PCIIIusb a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't take photos as it is so simple a monkey could do it. Other recent additions - a carbon fiber sticker set for the gas cap, a left rear passenger footpeg from a SV650S which has a 2-into-1 exhaust stock (I didn't like the empty hanger on that side vacated by my Yosh 2-into-1 system), I also got a Scorpio alarm. No photos of that for security purposes. :) On the way are some well overdue items - a scotts performance rotary steering damper (one of the first things I said I was going to buy after my accident), new gloves (the Icon TiMax gauntlet gloves), and a K&N air filter. Oh, and I removed the "snorkle" from the airbox cover and the induction sound is really cool and it feels like it pulls harder as well. I'm taking the bike in to my buddy's dealership this weekend where they are having an open house with dyno tuning. Check back for photos and I will post my dyno map as well. That's all for now.
29 JAN 2004: Well, I landed a job after a few months of "vacation". So, I ordered a PCIIIusb from
Two Wheel Drift for $249. It should be in Friday. I'll post install photos soon after. It's been a little cold lately, so I haven't been riding a whole lot, but I try to get out a little bit each day.
09 JAN 2004: I've done the TRE mod, added a new windscreen, and I'm working on an inexpensive way to integrate a garage door opener. New links under the MODS section (on left) with updated photos. Next on the agenda are a steering damper, air filter or airbox mod, and a power commander. I haven't decided on the order yet. Stay tuned...
21 NOV 2003: I've been updating the site over the past couple of days. I added a frame on the left side for site navigation. I took some additional photos and have added a "mods" section with currently shows my license plate bracket and rear turn signals. More to come...
03 NOV 2003: The bike is broken in. I have the Yoshimura 3/4 exhaust system installed. It sounds great. Also, I finally got around to updating the photos (above).
20 OCT 2003: Well, I bought another silver SV1000S last Wednesday. I did a similar fender removal on Friday except this time instead of the low-profile, rear signals, I found some amber LED signals at Pep Boys which fit into the bolt holes on the license plate. I hope to have some photos up soon. It looks better this way. I just got back from Daytona this morning after attending Biketoberfest. Still breaking in the new bike, but I should have that done by the end of the week. I have the same Yoshimura system on order and it should be in this week as well. Photos to come...
