1993 - 1997

At the end of 1993, and after the breakup of Burnhead, Damien went back into recluse living with just a few friends, lots of drugs and a borrowed four track. During this period he wrote and recorded THE WATCHER, A collection of strange folk songs. Among them were two surprisingly radio-friendly pop songs, "Read Between The Lines" and "Far Away". With these two songs, Damien sought to form a new band. He contacted Eric Donaldson, who in turn recruited Chris Zimmer and Jim Ricketts, both of whom were at that time in the band Invisible Cowboy. Damien also called on his long time friend David Easley and the first incarnation of Featherbox came into being. Damien recalls "We did a photo shoot before we ever played a song!
