Damien: "I had a few songs already and Jim gave me a tape of some music ideas he had. They were great! He and I wrote like that in the Insect Chandelier. Sadly, he left after one show. To be honest, I can't really recall if he even played one show!" |
|
After
the departure of Jim, Eric contacted Juan Woodfork,
a bass player that he had worked with in a band that used to play poetry
night at a local club. David Easley left to put more time into
his own band, the Heartifacts, so Featherbox
recruited Al Rodgers on keyboards. |

This line up hit the club circuit and started to build a decent following. However, due to the pop nature of the music, Damien had alienated many of the fans that had watched him grow stranger over the years. Damien said, "I didn't realize that it was that big of a departure for me! I started off writing catchy little pop songs back when I first started writing! I thought I was returning to my roots! I remember going into the bathroom at a club I was playing and seeing "damien youth is dead" scratched into the wall. I realized then that I had pissed off and disappointed a lot of people....again!" |

After
one recording session and a few shows, Featherbox went
through another line-up change. Clay Mixon replaced Al Rodgers
on keyboards. This would be the most enduring and productive incarnation
of the band. |
